Travel and Nature Photography

I have had the great fortune of traveling to a few places in the world. Being a photographer, I have become keenly aware of the impact taking pictures has on my travel experience. The process forces you to slow down, to look at where you are with intention, and to focus differently. This comes at a price. My wife, my travel partner who I sincerely appreciate, has the patience to wait on me while I find the angle and the light I am seeking in the photograph.

I am continuously surprised by how the process never stops being amazing. Shooting waves in Hawaii forces you to watch how they form, how they break, and how long they last as you try to capture the energy. It can lead to hours of observation. I think this is something we usually don't take the time to do. These images are a curated collection of places I've been and things I've seen.
